Tombstone Angels

Since Next Year keeps calling  my name and my Jo Morton homework Pottery Shards is not finished, I decided to choose something small and simple for the next stitching project.

A golden oldie from Chartmarkers called Sarah Hook is next on the stitching list.  Am not sure what year this design was released, let's just say Sarah has been around for a few years.  I am not stitching the entire piece (the words), I am only stitching the angel.  This tombstone angel will have to do double duty--fall decorations and Christmas decorations.  In the fall, people in the United States celebrate Halloween.  In Latin countries, they celebrate The Day of the Dead.  Sarah seems the perfect fit for both of these celebrations.

I am stitching Sarah on 35 count Confederate Grey by Weeks Dye Works and instead of the DMC fibers, I will be using NPI silks.  The finished design will be approximately 3 inches high and 81/2 inches wide.  I have several tombstone angels in my stash--Carolina Handley, Prudence Wilcome, and Rejoice all my Carriage House.  I also found a freebie angel by Sheepish Designs.
