Herr Drosselmeyer

Twenty four years ago when AppleJack and I got married, AppleJack's sister gave us a nutcracker as a wedding gift.  It was a wonderful gift!  Over the years the nutcracker has become even more special.  (Remember, I love Christmas, especially the decorations).  Since AppleJack's daughter was an apprentice dancing with the Nashville Ballet Company and performing in the Nutcracker it seemed appropriate to add more nutcrackers.  So . . . the assortment of nutcrackers grew.  The assortment stopped when there was no more room in the inn on the mantel.

Since Herr Drosselmeyer is such an important character in the Nutcracker story, we added Herr Drosselmeyer.

And the Mouse King, and the Toy Soldier, and the Handsome Prince.

Like most of us, the Nutcrackers have incurred some bumps and bruises in their lifetime.  For example:  this guy took a tumble and has a scar on his nose.  He has also lost regrown his mustache.

This guy can't keep up with his drum!

This guy suffered a cat attack and almost lost the feather in his cap!

This guy just wants his stein refilled with some of Sis's wonderful egg custard!

Que the music to the Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairies, enjoy your beverage of choice, and carpe diem!
