Rewards

My Mother has hyacinths planted near her front door.  They smell heavenly!

Every year I tell myself I am going to plant hyacinth bulbs.

Last fall, I finally, finally planted the bulbs.

The blooms are beautiful, the color is glorious and the fragrance, oh the fragrance is delightful.

It was a cold November day when I planted the bulbs and I questioned myself--these flowers are the rewards of my efforts.

  3. I buy a bunch of hyacinths every Spring to have in my hall. Those and a huge bunch of peonies when they are available are a special treat. Lovely. Irene xxx

  4. I love hyacinths! Every spring I vow to plant some hyacinth and tulip bulbs in the fall ... yet every fall I forget until it's just too cold for me to get out there and work in the yard. :-(

  5. I'm just like Kathy. good intentions in the spring, fizzled by fall.
