House on Pumpkin Hill Pinkeep

Stacy Nash Country Sampler Girls Club
House on Pumpkin Hill Pinkeep
32 count Belfast Linen--Charcoal Gray
Gentle Arts Fibers

It's past time to catch up on club pieces.  I have learned if I want to enjoy seasonal pieces, I have to start  stitching long before the season.  Stitching on the darker line was challenging.  There is a similar club piece called Wooly's Pinkeep which is also stitched on Charcoal Gray, I will stitch at a later date as I needed a break from the darker linen.

I found a great piece of trim in my stash--the jury is still out on the backing fabric.

Catching up is still on the agenda--have started stitching The Keys' Keeper from The Primitive Hare--she will make a good addition to my colonial pieces.  Will share when there is more progress.

Personally, I always had a hard time stitching on any linen--light or dark. : )

  2. That is a wonderful Fall design. I agree, if you wait till the season, you will be enjoying it the next time that season comes around.

  3. This is a beautiful piece! I agree that the dark backgrounds are very challenging... a tip I read was to place a light under the stitching so you could see the holes better. I tried it with a Country Stitches design that was stitched on black linen. And while it did help a little... it was not enjoyable enough to finish the piece. Congrats to you for following through and finishing your piece! :-)
