Beating the Heat

Yesterday was Beat the Heat in Clarksville.  Isn't this a great rug?  The design is by Joan Moshimer

A chicken hot mat.  Beautiful wools

A wool Charlie Brown Christmas tree.  Rug Hookers are very creative and find all kinds of way to incorporate wool into their homes.

Isn't this Santa the bomb?

I learned how to lace hooked pieces to canvas.  A very creative hooker/artist.

A welcome wagon for fall.

Beating the Heat, a little hooking, a little retail therapy, creative juices running like water.

Carolyn brought her beautiful hexie quilt to share.  It is an heirloom beauty.  The hexes are 3/4" no two flowers are alike all made from Civil War reproduction fabric and when completed king size!

Delilah's birthday signature quilt.  The signatures are nieces, nephews, high school friends, church friends, sitching/hooking friends and co workers.  A great way to celebrate and remember a birthday.

A Beating the Heat bonus--I learned there is a Rebekah Smith workshop in September!  I called the Mooresville Mercantile and reserved the last spot!

  2. What a fun day! So many beautiful things. I just love Mooresville. Every time I go to Huntsville, I go to visit Mooresville. The Mercantile was closed the last time we visited. I was disappointed. We just don't have places like that here in the Seattle area.
