My Mother has hyacinths planted near her front door. They smell heavenly!
Every year I tell myself I am going to plant hyacinth bulbs.
Last fall, I finally, finally planted the bulbs.
The blooms are beautiful, the color is glorious and the fragrance, oh the fragrance is delightful.
It was a cold November day when I planted the bulbs and I questioned myself--these flowers are the rewards of my efforts.
I agree, they are well worth the effort!
ReplyDeleteHyacinths are one of my favourite flowers for their beautiful smell and pretty colours, I've never tried to grow them though. Yours look wonderful!!
ReplyDeleteI buy a bunch of hyacinths every Spring to have in my hall. Those and a huge bunch of peonies when they are available are a special treat. Lovely. Irene xxx
ReplyDeleteI love hyacinths! Every spring I vow to plant some hyacinth and tulip bulbs in the fall ... yet every fall I forget until it's just too cold for me to get out there and work in the yard. :-(
ReplyDeleteI'm just like Kathy. good intentions in the spring, fizzled by fall.
ReplyDeleteGood for you! My good intentions seem to always fall by the wayside.
ReplyDeleteLovely indeed! Well worth the planting!
ReplyDeleteThey are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteLove the color.
Catherine
