October . . .National Breast Cancer Awareness Month
For those who know me . . . pink is my least favorite color. For those who know me, they will be shocked to learn there is anything pink at Thistle Manor! To support and promote breast cancer awareness, I stitch pink. These pieces are from the Elegant Stitch.
At Thistle Manor the annual mammogram is known as The Big Squeeze. You know that moment, when the technician says "take a deep breath and say pancake." For me, it is not an enjoyable visit, but a necessary one. I equate The Big Squeeze with The Peek. Take as much time as you need to think on this one.

I didn't need long to think about the Peek! I know exactly what you were talking about. But both the Big Sqeeze and The Peek are so necessary!
ReplyDeleteI'm not a pink girl either. Such a beautiful color in a zillion different shades, and I have a sweater in that color! But not for my house. In October, I wear it often.
ReplyDeleteNice pieces! I had my first mammo in May--I'm in my 40s and they don't do them until a woman is in their 50s here, unless needed. I found a lump and needed one (and thank God all is well). It wasn't as bad as I'd thought--but then the technician said I must have a very high pain threshold. LOL
